“WAG N’ WOOF DAYS” OFFER REDUCED ADOPTION FEES FOR DOGS AT YOUNG-WILLIAMS ANIMAL CENTER
Now is the perfect time to add a dog to your family and right now you can help save a life and save a few dollars by adopting at Young-Williams Animal Center. This time of year the number of adoptable animals at the center is on the rise. That’s why the center is launching “Wag N’ Woof Days” through October to encourage people to pick up a new canine for your family.
Beginning Aug. 1 adoption fees for dogs over the age of six months are being greatly reduced.
Dogs between six months and seven years of age will be $75. The normal fee is $120. Senior dogs over the age of eight will be $50.
“Adult dogs are just as loveable and friendly as puppies,” said Tim Adams, executive director of Young-Williams Animal Center. “But mature dogs are usually more even-tempered and certainly more likely to be house trained. We have plenty to choose from.”
The adoption fee includes spay or neuter, shots (except for rabies vaccine, which pet owners must get at their own vet), check and treatment for intestinal parasites and a microchip. The special adoption rates will continue through October as part of the “Wag N’ Woof” program.
Adams said the center has enjoyed great success with their recent “Feline Fiesta” discount program. More adult cats were adopted this summer than during this time last year thanks in part to the discounts. Adams hopes to repeat the success for dogs with “Wag N’ Woof.”
The Young-Williams Animal Center is the official animal shelter for Knox County and the city of Knoxville.
